The Nature Boy is coming back! A new report indicates that Ric Flair is heading back to WWE Monday Night RAW. Flair will join a host of former WWE legends as part of the RAW 20th Anniversary show on Monday January 14.
The report unveils plans for a major segment planned for Flair on Monday. Dave Meltzer reports that Flair will play a big part in Monday’s show. Flair will reportedly have a major confrontation with CM Punk. The angle will play off of their confrontation a couple of weeks ago.
This is huge news and a big development between Flair and the WWE. Flair returned a few weeks ago as part of the Slammys. Flair had an angle with CM Punk and The Shield. Flair reportedly left RAW without a contract in place. Reportedly lingering issues stemming from the TNA Impact Wrestling lawsuit against the WWE precluded the WWE from signing Flair full time. It would appear that at this point Flair is working on a night-to-night deal.
Flair has certainly found his way back into the pro wrestling news lately. Flair made news last week when it was announced that he was coming out of retirement to wrestle. Yes, a couple of weeks after Flair saying he was done wrestling, he signed to return to All Japan Pro Wrestling for a reported $15,000. The deal is also part of a larger plan which includes Flair’s son Reid training at the AJPW dojo.
It was fairly obvious that while Flair may not be signed full-time, that his shot with Punk was more than just a single night deal.
